Miro Templates: Affinity Mapping

Templates are my jam. I love helping user research teams build structure from the ground up—creating tools that make their process smoother, more consistent, and more enjoyable. One of my favorite examples was this Miro template I designed for affinity mapping after team members conducted user interviews. The goal was to create a shared, visual space where everyone could easily organize qualitative data, identify patterns, and collaborate across time zones and roles without losing context or clarity.

To make it both approachable and memorable, I designed the template in a comic book–inspired format, complete with illustrated panels and clear, narrative-style instructions. This playful style helped onboard new team members—especially interns and product managers who were newer to research synthesis—by turning what can feel like a daunting analytical task into an engaging visual process. Beyond its immediate use, the template also ensured our findings were documented and presented consistently, giving stakeholders a reliable reference point for future projects and reinforcing a sense of cohesion across the entire research practice.
